Parker Marine Services was founded by Jonathan Parker who has spent over 17 years attending engine breakdowns and thousands of hours handling boats.
Over the last decade Jonathan has worked at a marine breakdown company on the south coast of England and has repaired or towed over 3000 boats at sea and on land, both motor and sail. Jonathan has also spent many years teaching the RYA Diesel Engine Course. He has seen first hand the reasons why breakdowns and accidents occur and founded Parker Marine Services to pass on his knowledge and help fellow boaters have peace of mind afloat.
Jonathan has featured on the BBC's 'Sea City' series (series 1 episode 2 and 11:40 into the programme) as well as advised and is featured, with his wife Rebecca, in the recent book written by Duncan Wells titled 'Stress Free Motorboating'. He has also recently featured (03/2018) in the RYA Careers week promotion in when he was working as an emergency marine breakdown engineer.
Parker Marine Services helps owners improve their knowledge by
Improving their boat handling skills for different types of vessels
Teaching how to look after their propulsion systems themselves to prevent breakdowns.
Parker Marine Services does not end there.
We help you make an informed decision when purchasing a new boat by offering,
As well as undertaking,
Parker Marine Services also offers,
Diesel fuel and tank cleaning which may be required when a boat has been left idle for some time, as water, bacteria and fungal growth ( diesel bug ) will grow in unused fuel. Foreign bodies such as old sealant, dirt and bits a plastic may also end up in the fuel tank via the filler neck which have the potential to cause blockages. We have developed the Diesel Clean Machine to combat this problem without the need to remove your fuel tank and with very little loss of fuel. It has a very powerful suction and return pipe which will lift even pieces of metal to be filtered out at up to 60 litres per minute (3,600lph).
